Elon Musk Donates $132 Million to Pro-Trump PACs, Becomes Second-Largest Donor
Oct 25, 2024, 03:02 AM
Elon Musk, the billionaire founder of Tesla and SpaceX and owner of X, has significantly amplified his financial support for Donald Trump's presidential campaign in the final weeks leading up to the 2024 election. Federal filings show that Musk has donated at least $132 million to pro-Trump super PACs, including a recent $43.6 million contribution to America PAC in early October and $56 million in the final weeks. His donations also include $3 million to a super PAC supporting both Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Trump, and $825,000 to a super PAC affiliated with GOP Congressman Tony Gonzales. These substantial contributions position Musk as Trump's second-largest donor, following Timothy Mellon, who has contributed $150 million. Musk's increasing involvement marks a significant political engagement from the tech entrepreneur as he leverages his wealth to influence the election outcome.
