Jun 20, 2024, 04:30 AM
Japan's Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has ruled out dissolving the House of Representatives for a general election despite facing a no-confidence motion over a funds scandal. The Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan leader Kenta Izumi challenged Kishida to dissolve the Lower House due to the Liberal Democratic Party's handling of the scandal. The no-confidence motion, submitted by the main opposition party on Thursday, was voted down by the Lower House. Criticism of Kishida's choices has grown from members of his own and other parties. This information was reported by Kyodo.
