Former South Korean Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun attempted suicide while in custody at the Eastern Detention Center, officials from the Justice Ministry confirmed. Kim, who is the central figure in a case involving a failed bid to impose martial law, had skipped his arrest warrant hearing earlier in the day. He was detained over allegations of proposing the declaration to President Yoon Suk Yeol. The incident was reported by Yonhap News Agency. Kim has been transferred to a hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
