CMSA Advances Manned Lunar Rover Proposals to Prototype Phase for 2030 Goal
Oct 29, 2024, 04:10 AM
The China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) has selected two proposals for manned lunar roving vehicles, designed by the Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology (SAST) and the China Academy of Space Technology (CAST). These proposals have advanced to the prototyping phase as part of China's ambitious goal to achieve a manned lunar landing by 2030. The rovers feature modular design and foldable configuration, capable of carrying two astronauts. The CMSA has released renderings of the designs and is soliciting public input on naming the final selection, with the process open until November 30.
