VisitHezbollah's Shahed-101 Drone Strikes Netanyahu's Residence; Israel Blames Iran
Oct 19, 2024, 08:38 AM
A series of drone attacks launched from Lebanon targeted various locations in Israel, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's private residence in Caesarea. On October 19, multiple drones, identified as "Shahed-101" suicide drones and allegedly launched by Hezbollah, infiltrated Israeli airspace, flying 70 kilometers into the country. While two drones were intercepted, one managed to evade Israeli helicopters and strike Netanyahu's residence, causing minor damage but no casualties, as neither Netanyahu nor his wife were present. Netanyahu's office initially refused to disclose his whereabouts following the attack. A senior Israeli official stated, "Iran tried to eliminate the Prime Minister of Israel." The incident underscores security concerns over drone infiltrations and highlights potential security failures amid escalating tensions with Iran and Hezbollah.
