Israel Destroys Iranian S-300 Air-Defense Systems Protecting Key Refineries, Gas Field, and Ports

Israel’s attacks on Iran early Saturday destroyed air-defense systems set up to protect several critical oil and petrochemical refineries, as well as systems guarding a large gas field and a major port in southern Iran. According to the New York Times, the IDF successfully destroyed defenses at the Bandar petrochemical complex and Abadan oil refinery. Israel also took out all four S-300 air defense systems that Iran purchased from Russia. This action has made the sites more vulnerable to future Israeli strikes, and also targeted command-and-control systems.
