Russian Shahed Drones Attack Kyiv for Over Five Hours, Damaging Residential Buildings and Injuring Several
Nov 2, 2024, 07:09 AM
Russian forces launched a massive drone attack on Kyiv on November 2, 2024, using Iranian-made Shahed-type kamikaze drones flying at extremely low altitudes. The attack lasted for more than five hours, with explosions heard throughout the city and air raid sirens sounding. Debris from intercepted drones caused fires and damaged residential buildings in at least four districts, including Sviatoshynskyi and Solomianskyi. Fires broke out in several districts, and a 16-story residential building in the Sviatoshynskyi district caught fire, with damage to the upper floors. Several people were injured, including a policeman who was assisting in evacuations. The Ukrainian air defense was active during the assault.
