May 17, 2024, 01:18 PM
Two police officers were killed and one injured in an attack on a police station in Ulu Tiram, Johor, Malaysia. The attack, which occurred on Friday morning, was carried out by a man suspected of being a member of the hardline Jemaah Islamiyah group. The attacker was shot on the spot. Following the incident, over 20 suspected Jemaah Islamiyah members were arrested, and Malaysian security forces are hunting for additional members. The Malaysian government stated that the attacker was a recluse and believed to have acted on his own, despite suspected links to the terror group. Heightened security measures have been implemented at Singapore checkpoints in response to the attack.
