Russian Forces Launch Major Offensive from Russian Territory in Ukraine's Kharkiv, Advance 1km Near Vovchansk
May 10, 2024, 12:39 PM
Russian forces have initiated a significant military offensive against the Kharkiv region of northeastern Ukraine from Russian territory, involving armored columns, mechanized infantry, and heavy artillery supported by tactical-combat aircraft. The operation, which began with an overnight aerial attack including the firing of two S-300/S-400 missiles, has resulted in fires in multiple buildings in Kharkiv. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed the offensive, stating that Ukrainian forces were prepared and are actively engaging the Russian troops. The ground forces have advanced approximately 1km near Vovchansk, aiming to establish a buffer zone. Additionally, Russia has captured five new villages near the border, within a few hundred meters of the Russian border.
