Washington Post: Israel Used Booby-Trapped Hezbollah Devices, Injuring Iran's Ambassador
Oct 5, 2024, 11:32 PM
The Washington Post reports that Israel's intelligence agency, Mossad, orchestrated an elaborate operation nine years ago where they designed and built communication devices, including pagers and walkie-talkies, for Hezbollah, which were paid for by the militant group itself. These devices were used by Israel to eavesdrop on Hezbollah's communications while secretly embedding bomb components that were virtually undetectable, even upon disassembly or X-ray examination. Iranian ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani, was injured when one of the devices exploded in his hands, stating, "The pager was in my office. I generally didn’t pay much attention to it, but that day, I accidentally pressed the button, and the pager exploded in my hands."
