Putin Vows Greater Destruction on Ukraine After Kazan Drone Attack; Zelensky Promises More Strikes
Dec 22, 2024, 11:39 AM
Russian President Vladimir Putin has vowed to carry out further strikes against Ukraine after a drone attack on the city of Kazan, located approximately 1,000 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. The attack, which occurred on Saturday, involved at least eight unmanned aerial vehicles loaded with explosives targeting facilities in the city. Authorities in Tatarstan, where Kazan is the capital, are working to restore the infrastructure damaged in the attack. Putin stated during a televised government meeting that those responsible will "face many times greater destruction themselves" and that Russia "will move forward at even greater speed." The Russian government attributed the attack to Ukrainian forces, and tensions between the two countries continue to escalate. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has promised more attacks on Russian territory similar to the one on Kazan.
