An Israeli airstrike in the al-Mawasi area of Khan Yunis, southern Gaza, resulted in the deaths of Major General Mahmoud Salah, the Director-General of the civil Police Department in Gaza, and his aide, Brigadier General Hussam Shahwan. The attack, which targeted a tent sheltering displaced families, also killed at least 11 other individuals, including children, and wounded 15 more.
