The proposal includes coverage for condoms, the "morning after" pill such as Plan B, daily oral contraceptives, and Opill, without a prescription. Announced two weeks before the US presidential election, President Biden stated, "This new action would help ensure that millions of women with private health insurance can access the no-cost contraception they need." However, uninsured women would not be covered under this proposal. The initiative aims to expand access to contraception as part of the administration's efforts to broaden reproductive health care coverage.
