Brazil, currently presiding over BRICS, has announced that Indonesia has officially joined the organization as a full member, following unanimous approval by all BRICS nations. The Brazilian Foreign Ministry conveyed the decision, marking a significant expansion of the group of major emerging economies. Indonesia, the world's fourth most populous nation with nearly 300 million people, had previously sought to strengthen cooperation among emerging countries and advance the interests of the Global South. The inclusion of Indonesia bolsters BRICS's influence and collective voice in global affairs. China and other member nations have warmly welcomed Indonesia's accession, highlighting its strategic importance and active participation in BRICS Plus initiatives.
