India Condemns Israeli Attack on UN Peacekeepers Along Blue Line
Oct 11, 2024, 10:26 AM
The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) reported that the Israeli military fired at UN positions in southern Lebanon. India, which contributes 903 soldiers to the UN peacekeeping force in South Lebanon, expressed deep concern over the deteriorating security situation along the Blue Line, which divides Lebanon from Israel and the Golan Heights. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) emphasized the need to respect the inviolability of UN premises and ensure the safety of peacekeepers, highlighting the sanctity of their mandate. India condemned the attack and is closely monitoring the situation.
