Ex-NY Governor Paterson and Stepson, Son of Curtis Sliwa, Attacked by Teens on UES
Oct 5, 2024, 07:06 AM
Former New York Governor David Paterson and his stepson were attacked by a group of teenagers while walking their dog on Manhattan's Upper East Side on Friday night. The incident occurred along Second Avenue when Paterson, who is legally blind, and his stepson, 20-year-old Anthony Chester Sliwa—the son of radio personality and Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa, who ran against Eric Adams in the 2021 New York City mayoral election—confronted the teenagers climbing a fire escape. Police sources indicate that the assailants had a previous interaction with the stepson. Both Paterson and his stepson sustained injuries and were taken to NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center for treatment.
