VisitU.S. Lawmakers Agree on Aviation Safety Bill, Keep Pilot Age Limit
Apr 29, 2024, 06:52 AM
U.S. lawmakers have reached an agreement to enhance aviation safety by increasing air traffic controller staffing and funding to prevent runway close-call incidents. The deal, achieved through negotiations between House and Senate representatives, also maintains the current airline pilot retirement age at 65, rejecting proposals to raise it to 67. This agreement is part of the FAA reauthorization bill, which is set for its first procedural vote in the Senate on Wednesday.
