Singaporean Ship Owners to Pay $101.98M for Key Bridge Collapse Killing Six
Oct 24, 2024, 10:13 PM
Grace Ocean Private Ltd. and Synergy Marine Group, Singapore-based owner and operator of the cargo ship Dali, have agreed to pay $101,980,000 in a settlement with the U.S. Department of Justice. The settlement resolves a civil lawsuit stemming from the March collision in which the Dali struck and destroyed Baltimore's Francis Scott Key Bridge, resulting in six deaths. The settlement will reimburse federal costs incurred in clearing underwater debris, restoring access to the Port of Baltimore, and related expenses. It does not cover the cost of replacing the collapsed bridge.
