Two Portland Men Die of Exposure in Gifford Pinchot Forest During Sasquatch Search
Dec 29, 2024, 08:32 PM
Two men from Portland, Oregon, aged 59 and 37, were found dead in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest in Washington state after they failed to return from a Christmas Eve trip to search for Sasquatch. The Skamania County Sheriff's Office reported that the men likely died from exposure due to harsh weather conditions and being ill-prepared. The search for the missing men began around 1 a.m. on Christmas Day and involved over 60 volunteers, including canine, drone, and ground search teams, as well as the U.S. Coast Guard, which used infrared technology to aid in the search. The effort spanned three days over difficult terrain and adverse weather, culminating in the discovery of the men's bodies in a heavily wooded area of the forest.
