VisitBaidu Plans Global Expansion of Apollo Go Robotaxi Service, One of the Biggest Fleets, Starting in Hong Kong
Oct 9, 2024, 04:39 AM
Baidu Inc. is planning to expand its Apollo Go robotaxi service into global markets, with an initial launch set for Hong Kong, marking the company's first venture outside mainland China. Apollo Go currently operates one of the largest robotaxi fleets in China, providing fully driverless rides in major cities including Wuhan, Beijing, Chongqing, and Shenzhen. This expansion comes as Baidu seeks to compete with other players in the autonomous vehicle sector, including Tesla, which has yet to legally test a fully driverless car. The announcement was made amid growing interest in robotaxi services worldwide.
