Daimler Truck, UAW Reach Deal: 25% Raises, Profit-Sharing, Averting Strike
Apr 27, 2024, 03:28 AM
Daimler Truck has successfully negotiated a new labor contract with the United Auto Workers (UAW), averting a potential strike by over 7,300 hourly workers across six facilities in three southern U.S. states. The tentative agreement, reached just before the contract expiration at midnight on April 26, includes significant terms such as raises exceeding 25%, the elimination of wage tiers, and the introduction of profit-sharing and cost-of-living adjustments (COLA). The deal was finalized in North Carolina and covers all the workers who were poised to strike.
