Georgia Couple Sues Hospital Over Misplaced Skull and $19K Charge
Aug 18, 2024, 05:21 PM
A Georgia couple is suing Emory University Hospital Midtown after a portion of Fernando Cluster's skull was misplaced following surgery for a brain hemorrhage. The hospital allegedly lost the 28-square-inch piece of Cluster's skull, which was removed during the procedure. Subsequently, the hospital charged the patient $19,000 for a replacement. The lawsuit claims that the hospital staff were unable to identify and locate the missing bone, leading to the legal action for accountability and compensation.
