Hurricane Milton has made landfall near Siesta Key, Florida, as a Category 3 storm. The hurricane hit the region with sustained winds of 120 mph and a pressure of 954 mb. Significant storm surge, flooding rainfall, and destructive winds are expected to continue overnight. The storm, which made landfall just before 8:30 PM Eastern, has already caused fatalities and is lashing the Gulf Coast with heavy rains and tornadoes. Areas near Tampa are also affected.
