TSMC Plans Expansion with New European Chip Plants for AI Market

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) is planning to expand its operations in Europe by building more chip manufacturing plants. The focus of these new facilities will be on producing chips for the artificial intelligence (AI) market. This expansion is part of TSMC's broader strategy to increase its global footprint and meet the growing demand for AI chips. The announcement was confirmed by Cheng-wen Wu, the head of Taiwan’s National Science Council. TSMC already has a semiconductor fabrication plant under construction in Dresden, Germany, which will also cater to various markets, including AI.
