Elon Musk Gives $74.95 Million to Pro-Trump PAC, Becomes Top GOP Donor
Oct 16, 2024, 11:44 AM
Elon Musk has emerged as a significant Republican donor by contributing $74.95 million to America PAC, a pro-Trump super political action committee he founded in May. Federal Election Commission filings reveal that Musk was the sole donor to the PAC between July and September, donating $15 million in July, $30 million in August, and $30 million in September. This substantial contribution positions him among the largest individual donors in the 2024 election cycle. America PAC focuses on supporting key values such as secure borders, sensible spending, self-protection, and safe cities, and is funding much of the ground game for Donald Trump's presidential campaign. In addition to his financial support, Musk announced plans to hold a series of town halls across Pennsylvania, including in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Harrisburg, from tomorrow night through Monday. The events aim to encourage voter participation in the crucial battleground state ahead of the voter registration deadline. Attendance at these free town halls requires participants to be registered Pennsylvania voters who have signed a petition supporting free speech and the right to bear arms. This marks Musk's increasing involvement in the political arena as he backs Trump's bid for the White House.
