District Dogs to Pay $100,000, Improve Safety After 10 Dogs Died in 2023 D.C. Flood

District Dogs, a pet care business in Washington D.C., has been ordered to pay $100,000 to the District and make safety and emergency preparedness improvements at all of its D.C. locations as part of a settlement over a 2023 flood that resulted in the deaths of 10 dogs. The company will also permanently close the facility connected to the tragic incident, according to the D.C. Attorney General.
