Oct 21, 2024, 06:00 PM
Elon Musk, the billionaire founder of Tesla and SpaceX and owner of X, has committed at least $70 million to support Donald Trump's 2024 presidential campaign. Musk, the world's richest person, has also donated $75 million to the pro-Trump America PAC, which used the funds to purchase ads yielding tens of millions of impressions on X. Trump's campaign, which previously relied on grassroots contributors, is now heavily dependent on wealthy backers, including Musk. Trump has raised $260 million from small donors, significantly less than the $476 million he raised in 2020.
