Texas Land Commissioner Offers 1,402-Acre Border Ranch to Aid Trump's Mass Deportation Plans
Nov 20, 2024, 05:37 PM
Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham has offered the incoming Trump administration 1,402 acres of land to aid in mass deportation operations. The land, located in Starr County near the U.S.-Mexico border in the Rio Grande Valley, was recently acquired by the Texas General Land Office (GLO). In a letter sent Tuesday, Buckingham proposed leasing the tract as a staging area for deportation efforts starting in January. The land could be used to build deportation facilities, detention centers, or a border wall to support the largest deportation of illegal immigrants in U.S. history. Buckingham expressed full support for the administration's plans, stating that Texas is '100% on board' with aiding in mass deportations.
