Daniel Khalife, a 23-year-old former British soldier who escaped from Wandsworth Prison in September 2023, has been found guilty by a jury at Woolwich Crown Court of two spying charges for Iran. Khalife was convicted of collecting sensitive information, including the names of special forces personnel, for individuals linked to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. He was cleared of a bomb hoax charge. Khalife had previously admitted escaping from prison by hiding under a catering truck.
