Clemson Approves $150 Per Semester Athletics Fee, Expected to Generate $7 Million Annually
Oct 19, 2024, 04:30 AM
Clemson University's Board of Trustees has approved a new athletics fee of $150 per student per semester, starting next fall. The fee, which amounts to $300 annually, is intended to cover athletic operations expenses directly associated with student-athlete services and student experiences. The decision passed unanimously in committee but faced some opposition in the full board meeting, with three members, including Nikki Haley, voting against it. Despite the opposition, the fee was approved with a 10-3 vote. The new fee is expected to generate close to $7 million annually for Clemson's sports programs.
