Russian Defense Minister Belousov Meets Chinese Counterpart Dong Jun for Military Cooperation Talks
Oct 14, 2024, 11:50 AM
Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov has arrived in Beijing for an official visit, where he will hold talks with China's military and political leadership. The visit includes discussions on military cooperation between the two countries, which both sides view as crucial for maintaining global and regional stability. Belousov was welcomed by Chinese Defense Minister Admiral Dong Jun at the Central Military Commission building, with the participation of an honor guard and orchestra. This visit marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia. Despite Western accusations of China's indirect support for Russia in the war against Ukraine, China denies any military cooperation with Russia. Belousov emphasized the importance of deepening strategic collaboration with China and expressed hopes for fruitful cooperation. This is Belousov's first solo visit to China since his appointment in May, and he is representing Russian President Vladimir Putin.
