China Files WTO Complaint Against EU Over Electric Vehicle Tariffs
Aug 9, 2024, 08:54 AM
China has formally launched a complaint with the World Trade Organization (WTO) against the European Union's decision to impose temporary countervailing measures on Chinese electric vehicles. The Chinese Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) argues that the EU's decision lacks a legal basis and violates WTO rules. The complaint was filed on August 9, following the EU's preliminary ruling on the matter. China urges the EU to correct its mistakes regarding the new energy vehicle (NEV) tariffs.
