ACC to Share Redacted ESPN Contracts with Florida AG by August 1, Lawsuit Dismissed
Jul 17, 2024, 08:12 PM
The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) has agreed to provide copies of its media rights agreements with ESPN to the Florida Attorney General's office by August 1. This decision follows a legal dispute initiated by the Florida State University (FSU) concerning the transparency of these contracts. The Florida Attorney General, Ashley Moody, brokered the deal, which will see the documents made public, albeit with redactions for trade secrets. The agreement resolves a lawsuit filed by the Attorney General's office in April and is seen as a victory for transparency. As part of the agreement, the Attorney General's office will dismiss its public-records lawsuit against the ACC, which was scheduled for a hearing in Leon County on Monday.
