Ten More States Join DOJ's Antitrust Lawsuit Against Live Nation, Seeking Triple Damages
Aug 19, 2024, 05:10 PM
The U.S. Department of Justice has announced that ten additional states have joined its antitrust lawsuit against Live Nation Entertainment and its ticket-selling division, Ticketmaster. The lawsuit accuses the company of monopolizing markets across the live concert industry. Initially filed in May, the lawsuit now includes a total of 39 states and the District of Columbia. The states joining the lawsuit are Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Mexico, South Dakota, Utah, and Vermont. Attorneys general from about two dozen states are seeking triple damages for concertgoers, alleging that Live Nation has overcharged for concert tickets.
