VisitUkraine Downs 93 of 96 Russian Drones; U.S.-Funded Units Boost Air Defense

Ukraine's air defense forces successfully intercepted the majority of Russian drone and missile attacks launched overnight on November 3 and 4, which included ballistic missiles and guided aerial bombs. On November 3, Ukrainian forces shot down 93 out of 96 Shahed drones and one Kh-59/69 cruise missile. An additional 27 drones were neutralized using electronic warfare systems. The following night, Russia launched 80 Shahed drones targeting nine Ukrainian oblasts, with Ukrainian air defenses shooting down 50 drones and 27 more lost due to electronic warfare. All drones targeting Kyiv were successfully intercepted. The United States has funded the creation of 800 mobile air defense units in Ukraine, which have downed over 200 Russian drones since January.
