Cowboys Trade Peyton Hendershot to Chiefs for 2026 Conditional Draft Pick
Aug 27, 2024, 07:17 PM
The Dallas Cowboys have finalized a trade to send tight end Peyton Hendershot to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for a 2026 conditional seventh-round pick. Initially, the Cowboys planned to release Hendershot, who has appeared in 25 games for Dallas over the past two seasons. However, they opted for a trade, allowing them to receive a draft pick in return. The Chiefs, who are the reigning Super Bowl champions, will add Hendershot to their roster, where he will join as one of the understudies to star tight end Travis Kelce. This move reflects the Cowboys' confidence in their current tight end lineup, which includes Jake Ferguson, Luke Schoonmaker, and John Stephens. Hendershot's contract includes a $985k salary for 2024 and he will be a restricted free agent in 2025.
