The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) has licensed 27 new Digital Credit Providers (DCPs), increasing the total number of licensed DCPs to 85. This move comes as part of the CBK's ongoing efforts to regulate the digital credit market. Since March 2022, the CBK has received over 730 applications for digital credit provider licenses. The CBK is urging pending applicants to submit their documents for review.
