EigenLayer Boosts Minimum Token Allocation to 110 $EIGEN After Community Backlash
May 4, 2024, 04:43 PM
EigenLayer, a cryptocurrency platform, recently adjusted its airdrop policy in response to community hate and widespread criticism. The company increased the allocation of $EIGEN tokens by 100 for all users who interacted with the platform before April 29th. All Season 1 users will now receive a minimum of 110 $EIGEN, up from the initial 10 $EIGEN. The adjustment was made after feedback from the community and discussions on various platforms about the airdrop's design and its impact, including why certain countries were blocked. Despite the controversy, EigenLayer's founder, Sreeram Kannan, defended the decision to use a linear distribution model to prevent sybil attacks, a strategy discussed in podcasts and crypto analysis forums.
