China Advances National Park Legislation at First Reading Amid Ecological Progress

China is making significant progress in establishing national parks, with the National Forestry and Grassland Administration reporting an increase in flagship species and improved ecosystem diversity. A draft national park law has been submitted to the National People's Congress Standing Committee for the first reading, marking the first time China considers legislation for national parks at the national level. This draft law aims to protect key parts of the country's natural ecosystems, including unique landscapes, essential natural heritage, and areas rich in biodiversity.
