A wildfire dubbed the Park Fire near Chico, California, has rapidly expanded, forcing evacuations in Butte and Tehama counties. The fire, which started on Wednesday afternoon, has grown from 6,000 acres to over 45,549 acres by Thursday morning, according to Cal Fire, making it the largest fire in California for 2024. The blaze is currently only 3% contained, and temperatures in the 90s are contributing to the fire's rapid spread.
