Eni Announces Major Oil and Gas Discovery Offshore Mexico with 300-400 Million Barrels Potential

On July 8, Italian oil company Eni announced a significant new oil and gas discovery offshore Mexico. The discovery, located in Block 9 in the Gulf of Mexico, is a joint venture between Eni, which holds a 50% participating interest and operates the block, and Repsol, which holds the remaining 50%. Preliminary estimates suggest the potential of the discovery is around 300 to 400 million barrels of oil equivalent.
