Boar's Head has recalled 7 million pounds of deli meats following a listeria outbreak that has resulted in 57 hospitalizations and 8 deaths, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The outbreak, described as the largest since the 2011 cantaloupe-linked listeriosis outbreak, has affected individuals nationwide. Health officials in Maryland identified listeria in a liverwurst sample, prompting the recall. The CDC reported 14 new illnesses and five additional deaths linked to the outbreak.
