A fast-moving wildfire known as the Franklin Fire is burning northwest of Los Angeles near Malibu, forcing evacuations and threatening homes. Fanned by strong winds and fueled by low humidity, the fire has rapidly expanded to over 2,800 acres (approximately 1,200 hectares or 12 square kilometers). Firefighters are struggling to contain the blaze due to challenging terrain and weather conditions, and it remains 0% contained. Approximately 20,000 residents, including celebrities such as Cher and Dick Van Dyke, have been ordered to evacuate as over 8,000 homes are at risk.
