Trump Team Allegedly Received Fox News Town Hall Questions in Advance; Fox Investigating
Jan 8, 2025, 10:34 PM
A forthcoming book by Politico reporter Alex Isenstadt alleges that Donald Trump's team was provided with questions in advance of a Fox News town hall in January 2024. According to the book, a Fox News insider sent text messages containing images of the questions and planned follow-ups to a senior Trump aide about 30 minutes before the event. The questions, prepared by Fox News anchors Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, included topics such as whether Trump would divest from his businesses if elected, his stance on political violence, and his focus on retribution. The book claims that Trump's team used the leaked questions to prepare responses, although Trump reportedly reacted angrily to the questions, viewing them as attacks. Fox News has stated it has no evidence to support these claims but has launched an investigation into the matter. Fox also denied the characterization of Baier as a golf buddy of Trump, clarifying they had only played together a handful of times. The allegations, if true, represent a potential breach of journalistic ethics. The book, titled 'Revenge: The Inside Story of Trump’s Return to Power,' is set to be released in March 2025.
