Russia Approves New Five-Year Military Logistics Agreement with India
Jun 23, 2024, 05:53 AM
Russia has approved a new agreement on joint military deployments with India, aiming to regulate deployments and logistical support between the two countries' armed forces. Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has tasked the Russian Defense Ministry with negotiating the terms. The agreement will streamline procedures for Russian and Indian military units participating in joint exercises, ensuring seamless operations. Moscow has published a draft agreement on the mutual dispatch of military units, warships, and aircraft. The pact, set to last five years with a renewal clause, is key to interoperability, refueling, and maintenance. Notably, the agreement does not include joint deployment. India already has similar logistics pacts with the United States, France, South Korea, Singapore, Australia, and Japan.
