Former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his family have arrived in Moscow and have been granted asylum by Russia on humanitarian grounds, according to Russian state media citing Kremlin sources. Russian agencies, including TASS and Channel One, report that the Assad family is now in Moscow after Russia offered them asylum. The decision was made based on humanitarian considerations, the reports said.
