Ernest Shackleton's Last Ship, Quest, Found Off Labrador Coast After 62 Years
Jun 12, 2024, 12:07 PM
The wreck of Ernest Shackleton's last ship, Quest, has been discovered off the coast of Labrador in Canada. The steamship, used during Shackleton's final voyage in 1921-22, was located on the seafloor near Newfoundland after 62 years. The discovery was made during an expedition by the Royal Canadian Geographical Society. At least 17 searches were conducted to find the submerged wreckage. This find is significant as it represents the last link to the 'heroic age of Antarctic exploration.' The Times was granted exclusive access to the team who found it and spoke to them after the discovery.
