The Russian State Duma has ratified the comprehensive strategic partnership agreement with North Korea on October 24. The agreement, which was recommended unanimously by the State Duma Committee on Foreign Affairs, was confirmed by Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko, who stated there are no secret annexes to the treaty. The Russian Embassy emphasized that the enhanced relations between Moscow and Pyongyang are not directed against South Korean security interests. The ratification of the mutual defence treaty marks a significant step in the bilateral relations between Russia and North Korea.
