UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has conceded defeat to the Labour Party in the general election. Sunak retained his seat in Richmond and Northallerton but acknowledged the Conservative Party's loss, describing it as a 'sobering verdict.' In his concession speech, Sunak apologized to Conservative Party candidates and stated he had called Labour leader Keir Starmer to congratulate him on the victory. Meanwhile, Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt narrowly retained his seat in the newly-created Godalming and Ash constituency, winning by just 800 votes against Liberal Democrat Paul Follows. Hunt received 23,293 votes while Follows garnered 22,402 votes.
