Russia Launches First Non-Nuclear ICBM from Astrakhan in Dnipro Strike
Nov 21, 2024, 08:32 AM
Russia launched an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) from its Astrakhan region targeting Ukraine, marking the first use of such a weapon in the ongoing conflict. The missile, equipped with non-nuclear warheads and a 200-meter circular error probable (CEP), struck Dnipro, with Ukrainian military sources confirming the attack involved a mix of missile types, including the ICBM, a Kh-47M2 Kinzhal air-launched ballistic missile, and seven Kh-101 cruise missiles. Six of the cruise missiles were reportedly shot down by Ukrainian defenses. The ICBM was launched as part of an overnight attack, escalating tensions between the two nations. The Yuzhmash plant in Dnipro was among the targets hit.
